Somewhere over the rainbow

In train after train they come and go
each from their various starting points
each aiming for an eventual goal
a destination somewhere along the track
Some travelling close to home
others reaching for the far off heights of the line
There are those who search for worlds beyond the realms of the tracks
and are merely using the line as a means towards a greater end
then there are just a few
who merely sit, watching their companions reach their goals
they have no destination in mind
no motives in their heads
except a free will to drift through station after station
travelling somewhere along that line to nowhere
until they are hauled away
at the end of the line
