Ship of Lost Souls
By Paul Wilson

I am a plunderer of treasures from times past
Innocent souls lost upon the oceans they were cast
Through storms and battles many a fine ship was lost
Many a brave sailor paid the ultimate cost

Hoist the sail says the captain to his crew of men
The sun is setting and the tide is coming in
They plunder by night lying off the coast in wait
Eager too take another man’s gold and temp fate

They will attack when the time is just right
A schooner from Spain is sailing in tonight
There... shouts the captain to the South pointing his hand
Slowly they get ready waiting for his command

Quietly they move closer darkness is their shield
Ready to capture this ship and riches it will yield
The first shot is fired the battle has begun
The schooner is no match for them and tries to run

Cut them off shouts the captain to his faithful crew
Bring me the riches this ship holds and we are through
The fight is over and the ocean claims it’s prize
Tonight another ship of lost souls gave up their lives

The pirates make their way back to the shore
Laughing and shouting as they walk thru the pubs door
Together they raise their cups that are filled with ale
A toast to friends lost tonight that will no longer sail

They split the booty from this nights plunder
As a storm moves in they hear the roaring thunder
Each got his share of gold, silver and other things
Tonight they party for who knows what tomorrow brings

Paul, this is just like looking at a movie while reading. I'm sending it back to the top so more people will see it.

although I have no "booty"
I think
"Tonight they party for who knows what tomorrow brings" is a great idea...I have to learn to do this..and enjoy it.

Nice to read your words, Paul

Paul - I had a chance when I was in FL to go out with a treasure salvage crew. Most exciting it was...

Vivid scripts Paul.  Brought the main sail into clear view.  Such a stout time in the hearts of men. TD
