The Second Meeting

I was caught off guard
By your presence
Later, I was caught off guard
By my feelings

It was a love story
In the making
Or so I thought
Or maybe hoped

I ran to you
Threw my arms around you
You smelled of familiar
comfort

Your arms around me
Felt like a shield
You felt like the lost love
you were

It had been a lifetime
In all that had changed
for both of us
And the timing seemed right

We went to lunch
That same day
But no one ate
We drove and talked

Catching up
On that lifetime
That had passed
And what was to be

Hints of unfinished business
We both knew
We wanted to finish
Now that we had come together

Again

Susan,

This was a very enjoyable, fresh, and well written piece of writing. Enjoyed!

Now...how about us having lunch on Tuesday?

PS ~ Haven't I seen you somewhere before?

I just love that smell, "familiar comfort" You described this well, you painted a picture in my mind.  Good write.

The smell, the arms, all too familiar places for me..
Sometimes, I like to imagine the smell of that person.. sometimes, it's gut wrenching..

But you
you painted the picture of breathing him right in and never forgetting that you love the scent..

Nice picture, by the by.

Mike-11? How will I know you?  Can you wear a big pink rose in your hair?

Kaoru-ahhh, smell...smell is so important to me..give me a man that smells good and I will be glued to him...and thanks for reading!

Ron-Slacker??  I told you I was writing these so you should know I have them ALL written already....but ask and you shall receive I just need to tweek......Are you back or just online? (I am at home today, daughter had the biopsy yesterday).

KristieSue-Mike says everyone can come and he is picking up the tab...and, he is so generous, if we want to say screw work, we can move to the beach and drink ourselves silly...again all on him!!!  Mike is the MAN!!

M-Thank you so much!

lol! You are too funny, Sue. Btw...pink is my favorite color.

1100 is fine. We can meet outside in the Food Court. I'll be wearing a Pittsburgh Pirate pin-stripe button down shirt (untucked of course), shorts, and flip-flops (my standard get-around-town-summer-get-up).

And about that tab...you must of talked to my fellow coworkers lol. Drinks on the beach, sounds good to me!

Flip-Flops??  Okay, but I am coming from work (some of us do that) so I will not be wearing flip-flops....I still think the pink rose is a good idea...

(sssshhhh.....LOL, I feel like I'm interrupting)

But, Susan, I loved this and am looking forward to the nest chapter.

And this part....

I ran to you
Threw my arms around you
You smelled of familiar
comfort

After my Gary and I see each other and have to leave each again....we hate to even take a bath or change clothes because we want to keep the smell of each other close by. That smell can do something to you, can't it? Especially when it's a good, familiar smell. Ummmm!!
Hugs to you
Ethel

(okay, I'm outta here, guys. You can get back to your talk. LOL)
