of words
my ears are full
to the point
of overflowing
and even as I write
more and more
appear scratching
and clawing
to be heard

Hush takes my feet
and just walks
away
intently in search of

quiet

so engrossed
in my quest am I
that the soft sound
of a gentle wind’s
contentment
almost
brushed by me

the laughter of leaves
as the breeze
tickles the trees
is my soul’s
reassuring

Lord, teach me
to listen, moment by
moment...

IWIHWT...but since I didn't, I'm glad you did. I know this moment so well, just as I know of perceptions, and the mistaken impressions that are gleaned from them. Perception is an ART...and one not taken lightly.
