When did it happen Yesterday, last week, last month, last year I must have missed the funeral Sadly to say I stand in line In solitude Hearing a voice "Can I help the next person in line" I look around Me When did I lose my gender? When did my manliness disappear? I walk slowly to the voice Transact my business Only to be told "Have a nice day" Did they bother to see me Did they care that I was there For if not me, why them I was the reason they were Wish me not a pleasant day But appreciate Me for the dollars spent For the business given A simple courtesy A thank you Heart felt or not Acknowlegment My voice is silent now My soapbox lonely As I wander off In a sea of "have a nice day's" So when did it happen My ears must have been shut It couldnt have been yesterday Or the week before, or even the year I would have attended the funeral Or at least acknowledged The tragic truth Manners and courtesy are dead |

would have attended the funeral Or at least acknowledged The tragic truth Manners and courtesy are dead at least the talking heads told you to "have a nice day" what do you want her to....reach over the register and plant one on you? for the minimum wage these people make, be glad you got that much go play a course or two, the green is calling you....... and darling, have a nice superduper sunshiney day"....  |

lol@walmart.. You know, I understand the frustration.. but there's also the frustration of those that serve you.. Because, well, they "serve" you. Better a "have a nice day" than a swift kick in the butt and a "don't let the door hit you on your way out, sucker". Heh, I liked the write, though.. Don't get me wrong. You expressed your disdain well. We all have those experiences. |

Oh passing shadows is in trouble, hehehehe.I work at Walmart and I give everyone the same courtesy I would want myself.Unfortunaately in this world there are people who don't care and it's a sad thing to see.Well written here. Crystal |

No.... All I want them to say is Thanks! When I spent my money and my pockets are empty, its hard to have a nice day. Why should I be glad they said that. Thats the point, we have become so complacent we have come to expect nothing more than "have a nice day". Well I want more! And I tell them so. I say your welcome....usually get a blank stare and then a sheepish,,,,thank you! Is it better to go along with the crowd of acceptance. Well,I march to the beat of a different drummer. T thought you knew that. |
