(This is about my cousin Teia, who was raped at age 11 and has since been living in fear and tears! I wrote this song for her, as I have tried to visit her and comfort her for so long, but she hasn't contacted me in over a year so this song came out!  )Hide By: Noah Eaton 8/27/03 You're the queen of the stage And there's no use in running away Sometimes you just can't make it on your own Behind this proscenium arch You can't see me, and it can feel so hard Just take to heart that you're not alone What is it that makes you want to hide? You've got to believe that you can fly... Those things that you could never say There will always be another way And I won't hide What's happened, I'll never know All that was must forgo And I won't hide... I recognize the luggage you left behind You couldn't bare to drag those lies And we've been seperated by this great divide I can see it's beginning to rain I can't make out the symbol on your face Times like these I can't make out the time... Never deny what you can truly be Just cross your heart and learn to breathe... Those things that you could never say There will always be another way And I won't hide What's happened, I'll never know All that was must forgo And I won't hide... When all fades to black You can always go back Just don't burn the bridges When thieves deceive There's room to believe There's plenty of bridges... I threw a rose up upon the stage You couldn't see me wave As you were exaggerating your tragic flaw What have we learned from this tragedy? There's no room here for a ring side seat Down in front is where we all must see on and on... Now that you've ran, there's no return Still I memorize every word... Those things that you could never say There will always be another way And I won't hide What's happened, I'll never know All that was must forgo And I won't hide... All the sounds you never hear All the reasons I always fear And I won't hide Those mountains you could never climb Justifies exactly why I won't hide... I won't hide...
