Do You Hear The Roar?

Do you hear the roar?
The sound of crashing thunder in the distance.
She sits in her little home, a quiet gentle soul.
She is filled with pain from arthritis and deadly cancer.
In the night she hears the sound of her front door being smashed.
A man large with rippling muscles, a gun in hand
saying, “Get up old woman. Move!”
She cannot move as a young woman, she is filled with pain.
This powerful man grabs and throws her to the floor, hitting her as she falls.
He walks away with a smile upon his lips.
Do you hear the roar?
The sound of crashing thunder in the distance.

Do you hear the roar?
The sound of crashing thunder in the distance.
A school filled with children.
They run and laugh they are filled with joy.
A child unhappy he is out for revenge, he carries a gun beneath his jacket.
The children run and hide in fear, teachers try to shield the innocent.
He sprays a round of shots about the hall, into the classroom shooting as he
goes.
He walks away with tears flowing from his eyes.
Do you hear the roar?
The sound of crashing thunder in the distance.

Do you hear the roar?
The sound of crashing thunder in the distance.
Do you hear the cry from the children of the Earth?
“Protect me, please see my pain, help me.” Is their anguished cry.
Protect me from the unknown slayer that walks the Earth.
Please see my pain and loneliness, the fear I have inside.
Help me dear Lord to be a better person, protect me from evil.
Help me gain humility and wisdom for when the questions come.
Do you hear the roar?
Do you hear the sound of crashing thunder in the distance?

Maybe I'm going to far to the other side of the coin here, but this poem makes me think of one thing while reading...I don't believe we have to worry about anyone else taking this country out...we're doing it ourselves...

This was a very heart wrenching poem...your words speak volumns...thank you my friend...hugs and smiles sent your way from PA...
