I picked flowers for you along the way
wanting to surprise you with a little something
I rang the bell and waited at your door.

With a smile on my face to warm up to
I saw the glow from your window
and I knew you were home.

I smelled your sweetness in the air
sad to say, I was already getting comfortable
filled with light hearted anticipation.

Until I realized you were sound asleep
lost in a dream that I wasn't a part of
and I'll be damned!!

If I didn't feel like I was 16 years old
all over again, refreshing my memory
and how I wanted to runaway.

Relenting, I turned myself around, kicking up dirt
while holding back my tears and disappointment
that didn't change anything, then or now.

~and so it goes~

It's gotta make you feel silly to catch yourself being that way, but maybe good just to know you still have that kind of impulsiveness in you...it ain't dead, so you're doin' ok....

I love the way you build the feeling with this, just looking at yourself with a silly smirk and telling it anyway....good stuff!

...and so it goes, indeed.

Even I remember 16,
you made the feeling
jump right at me.

You are such a sweetheart! ...and so very talented, I am honored to read your words.

Now give us the ingrate's address and a few of us will go adjust a couple of things....

Well crap, I wasn't going to reply to this because I'm all shook up, again.  Thank you, Tima, Ed, Kaoru, icebox and Raph~  I didn't mean to imply he was an ingrate....quite the contrary, he is a wonderful person and I am grateful for the time we had.  I just don't hold up very well when my feelings get hurt.
Technology is what it is, and there is much to be gained and lost when the wires start burning up. Anyway, thank you again for reading.  Now then, I shall go dig a hole, a deep one, and wallow for awhile.  *sniff*

I feel the disappointment written in here, and as this was a personal experience, let me add that you are too talented to waste your time on someone who is obviously blind!! It always helps to write about it though, because you will have much support from your family here!!!  ~S~

Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart  ~~S~~

Lori, I don't know what to say, except that I understand
you  because you sound a lot like me.

I think that people like us put all we have into
whatever  we do...and it hurts like heck
when others don't do the same.

But, like the others said (in their own way).....
sweet lady, look in the mirror at what he's missing.
It's his loss!! Right?
Love and hugs to you, friend

Thanks to all of you good poets, I truly do appreciate your comments.

In case anyone else comes along to read, I thank you in advance, but please don't bump this up.  I'm disappointed in myself for posting it in the first place,  and I am far from proud.
