For Macy, my four year old daughter, who is working on her rhymes now. She is beginning to put together couplet verses of her very own...this is for you, my lil' darlin'. Mama loves you, Macy! M'lady's Bonnet M'lady dons her bonnet today Brim of tilt in poetic way Though she’s wore many hats before 'Tis one of poet I adore M'lady dons her bonnet this morn To fetch her words 'mid field o' corn With healthy harvest left behind Her sustenance sustains my mind M'lady dons her bonnet this noon To sing of winter in mid June In field of snow, bluebells bloom Scented flurries in her perfume M'lady dons her bonnet this eve To pen an ode of make believe Her laze recite of verse aloud Unveils me from my doubt of shroud M’lady dons her bonnet today Brim in tilt with poetic way Though she’s wore many hats before 'Tis one of poet I adore [This message has been edited by Sunshine (08-26-2003 03:11 PM).] |

I adore your daughter's bonnet as well... this is delightful, and beautifully penned... but it goes beyond a mother's heart, you know... it speaks to Macy's destiny... keep whispering those poetic verses to Macy... I would like to see her inherit her mother's love of write... ![]() |
