The chill of the air is sharp as the dark clouds begin to form You can tell by the uneasy silence It’s the calm before the storm The fear starts to rise A feeling from deep within Reminding you to take cover Not to get caught in it again Before you even realise the rain is pouring down You never had the chance To find some solid ground Caught in the middle Not knowing which way to turn You let the storm control you In hope of it ending soon The damage has been done And the storm has left its mark The fear has been instilled Deep within your heart FH © July 2003 Expressions, |

Fee! It's been so long since you graced the blue pages! Don't disappear like that - we've missed you! Good metaphors on storms, m'dear. They can most certainly catch you unawares... So good to have you back! |

Before you even realise the rain is pouring down You never had the chance To find some solid ground so very true...and a perfectly timed poem...for me. Nicely done M |
