Power of a Kiss

So mesmerized by deep desire, their eyes come to embrace
Entwined in thought beyond the touch or joy of common space
Just as the tides define the rhythmic motions of the sea
So are the lips the vibrant pulsing flesh of ecstasy

His pupils wander downward toward the lush and swollen lip
That  begs a waiting mouth the oozing wetness of a sip
It tiptoes ever softly to the closeness of his skin
And speaks the silent language of the fires that burn within

Then lip to lip and heart to heart the flaming passion wells
Just as the churning ocean tides rise up in rhythmic swells
The pulling undertows of love too powerful to fight
Draw in defenseless lips in quiet shadows of the night

And there in petals of the rose, the lush and blooming flower
Will open uninhibited to love’s  compelling power
And nothing ever will compare to this, the sweetest bliss
That moves the earth with tenderness and  beauty of a kiss

And now come the sighs. Beautiful, just beautiful.  I must study your work...I do so enjoy working in styles that incorporate rhyme...just haven't yet mastered the flow from line to line.  You keep writing and I'll keep reading, OK?

Love this!

The Lady speaketh the truth--and with exquisite 'sensuosity'!

~ May you be kissed this sweetly--and often!

Liz, this is the most beautiful poem that I have read by you.  You are an inspiration and I'm saving this.
