Clown Strip

Sometimes this life thing
is something to watch
with morbid fascination
like a clown striptease....

Feel the bounce,
Whizzo up there humping
the pole, sweat drooping off
the polka dot moustache
and the tips of the
floppy shoes
wagging circles to the beat
while the wagon wheel hat dips
like a jellyfish under the spell
of that feral slide trombone....

.....until the motley’s off, and
oh, man, why did I come?

...and will I ever again?

Ed...I know that clowns are supposed to make you laugh, but they always made me sad...being someone else then who they were. It might be interesting to see a clown strip down to his real humanness...huh?

You paint such a vivid picture that we can smell the grease paint and sweat... hear the slide of the trombone and the flap of the shoes. And you flavor the frenzy with a wistfulness that reminds us of so many things that colored our lives... that only come again in memories. *S*
