On A Date By her closet she stands As she readies for her date She doesn’t know what to wear And she doesn’t want to be late On her bed a pile of clothes None of them felt right And the way she looks and feels Will make or ruin the night Finally a dress That looks and feels good It clings to her body The way a dress should With shoes to match And purse in hand She looks in the mirror a final time Everything’s perfect And the date begins With a stroll on the boardwalk Walking hand in hand Watching the birds fly across The setting sun The drive to dinner is quiet Except for the soft music on the radio The restaurant is her choice With an ambiance and atmosphere She will enjoy The ride home, with no words said The gleam in her eyes Say the first part of the evening Was excellent And she is ready for dessert But that’s another story |
