If I was around, nothing would harm you
You can forget any fears
If you was sad, I'd hold and calm you
I'll be here for years
No more words of darkness
Let me be your light
The one to dry any tears
I'll be here, right beside you
To protect, to care and to guard you
Just promise me everything you say is true
Thats all I ask of you
Let me be your shelter
Your safe place to go
When no-one else wants to know
Filled with nothing but my love and pride
As we stand, side by side
Just say the word and I would follow
Id try to dissolve your sorrow
All because your my best friend
And Im here to the end...

Good poem. It shows what a true friend should be. In the world we are in right now, it's almost near impossible to find someone like this.
