Would you rather use a knife As you cut away my life? Your words are much too sweet To kill me off complete, You leave me dangling and confused And feeling rather lost and abused As I watch you walk away After those words you had to say That tore my soul apart Ending what I’d wish to start. It should have been a knife That ends the hoping beat Of an offer refused, Stabbing through the heart. Gloom |

People I have known just like to take little chunks of my heart...I imagine they are all somewhere comparing pieces, laughing uncontrollably...jerks... Loved the write! Susan |

there's been many a time I had wished that the other person would have just gone ahead and used the knife instead of the awful words. Somehow a physical cut will heal, but those words stick in your head forever! Great write, Prof...~S~ Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart ~~S~~ |

I've been here several times too.It would've been easier to take the easy way, but we are stronger than that and we shall live again. Crystal |

I have to agree... Knives seem much better at times. I appreciated you sharing your poem with me. It reminds me that others understand and can relate. |
