It is late summer The time of dancing heat That likes to fool the mind and eyes Into thinking relief lies just there On the horizon as blue water To quench parched tongues And offer relief of oppressive days. Even the Clerics are fooled By these false hopes, And in despair swim the dust Delirium driven lust tells them Over the whisper of Allah Is relief. These days I would sit in shade of date Contemplating those times And words exchanged with you Over time and heart. To journey far now, Foolish For seasons are to change again And the flow of spring be restored That in stop of oasis we might drink And not starve for life Soon it will cool And rains visit cracked lands As the sun is taken by his hand To burn other lands into purity And we… Shall lie again beneath stars Counting the arguments of why The petal of a rose Reminds me of you |

You draw me in. and this? it could have been written for me. you've read my mind. not that i could ever write in this way, only you could ever say it this way. i feel every word this very moment. ...and in this, the trace of finger over pool of petal, where a kiss would dwell, just so in your absence, I place the petal to float in the pool, that light meets light... ~*~ I do have to thank you for the inspire... |

Sy.. thank you sir for taking time to read and leave a word of encouragement Gem.. no need to be in awe..lol.. but I am pleased you enjoyed and that it found a way to speak to you Lee.. acceptance of what is sometimes is the only way to deal with now, knowing things change. Even in drought you are a cool drink of verse and then there is this.... And in despair swim the dust Delirium driven lust tells them ya know the moth is smiling at your allits, internal rhymes, assonance and word play. why Im moth giddy  may the rain fall softly on your rose of suppose ... then may you write of it . *S* "How could I stand here with you and not be moved by you." |
