Arietta By: Noah Eaton 7/29/03 . . . . . . . . ...across Green Street from Murphy's Pub... . . . ...in the front of an art gallery... . . . ...an elderly woman says to me... . . . . . . . . . ...she knew an artist in her gallery... . . . ...who had small feet and skin of parchment... . . . ...so white that when he enjoyed a drink... . . . ...you could see his cheeks and nose... . . . . . ...glow an autumn red... . . . ...that would shine a whole November through... . . . . . . . . . . ...and he died one March evening... . . . ...while counting the riches on his dining table... . . . ...with a smile wider than you could ever see.... . . ...just comes to show you... . . . . . . ...scattering is easier than gathering... . . . . . . . . . . . . ...so, my child... . . . . . ...be there with the day... . . . . . ...and be gone... . . . . . ...with the day... . . . . . ...so sow early and mow early... . . . . . . . . . . . . . I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (08-17-2003 08:01 PM).] |
