interwoven
to roots of the familiar,

the tree flirts with freedom,

scraping the sky
in illusions of autonomy,

suspended on a tightrope for now,
shackled,

between fear of the unknown
and a slowly withering soul

sounds as if someone has yanked it from it's mother, earth

(is someone else moving? LOL, I am packing to move next month, to be re-planted less than 20 miles from here)

I'd repost but this is much better..mine was more along the lines of finding roots and anchors..your idea is much better..floating to freedom is a much better image.you search for roots out of fear..control..and life can't be controlled..it's in the letting go that one can truly live..I dunno..typical pisces i can't decide on anything..grin

And I know that tree too. Hmmm...But the one I know has the caption "As above, so below"...

And inked, you have a special affinity with trees. And any friend of trees is a friend of mine. Love what you do with the leaves too.

I've seen that tree....the worst thing about being supported in that way, is that if the wind is a bit too strong, the tree can't bend, so it snaps off.

Splendidly composed!
I enjoyed reading this, it flowed
like the branches of a tree in the
breeze.

I've a thing for trees, too and
get slightly irked when I see one
butchered, 'steada pruned. Seems
the tree has no genuine appreciation!

Let this be World Tree Day!

Till oceans cease to flow and deserts lose their sands, may beauty surround you every day and wealth be in your hands.

absolutely just...AWESOME!

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.
