A stirring of cells subliminal. The echo of a word upon the harsh walls of thought. Poetically preemptive as a swirl of cream laces the Joe on a hot summer night’s dream. Tapping tips in snips of verse, drudgery and drivel’s curse. Waning lights of wicks in dance....Mind awhirr...poetic trance... Driven....yet deathly silent upon the pause....waiting...wondering.... When? Crippled thoughts, crutched and shorn, aimlessly wander the sands of time...awaiting the swish of a composer’s wand. A solitary quill spirals into the endless well of blackened waters. Silent, the deafened splash, caught within the ripples of deep thought... Drifting toward slumber.... A weary, haggard poet rests...until when? |

Barry, I always imagined you penning every word in perfect flow. When I have those snips of broken verse, one couplet and no more, I think one day I shall not endure this agony anymore. Not true? Perhaps only in dreams... Patricia |
