even the possibility
of life at 40
finds my fog lights stalled in the left lane
I ball up a napkin
compare it to my liver
and find that maybe
it would be better
to start soaking up the booze
with paper towels
I can buy those one hundred
for a dollar
also
the dental acreage
is a place that will be quite the investment
once it catches up
with the rest of the bullshit
having said this
I pour a little muck
into the pint glass
stir it with a bic
and flush it down my verizon

spanish rice is expanding in the pot
salmon is staking out the broiler
and I
am placing myself
on a road to nowhere
