Silence steals my breath Hollow out my mind Fill me with your words The snow melted Against the untainted background Of fallen stars The dark ground creeping in Taking over You, gone with the snow I come back, creeping Tattered and mud worn Shaking off the cover of white Nothing like I was Eyes open to see this world First time without your cover I am shattered Ravaged by your winter You’re gone I don’t believe spring can come Wash mud from my eyes Can I grow again? Will you fall next year? To cover me To hide me I’m exposed Fall again Against my cheek To protect me from fear You won’t I stand in the rain Hoping desperately to come clean Waiting for you to fall |
