Did you hear about the motorcycle trip
That was taken by three of our best?
Yuppir, LngJohnAg, Toerag and Balladeer,
Took two bikes out for a long test.

Seems they headed up into the mountains,
Where all the scenery had some curves.
They opened up the throttle
Along the river just to test their nerves.

LJ demanded that he be out front,
He didn’t want to see ‘deer’s rear.
But Balladeer was eager to follow,
And so he stayed so very near.

Winding roads along that river,
With bugs bouncing off their cheeks.
These three boys were having fun,
Like they had not had in weeks.

Toerag held on the best that he could,
Snuggled up to LJ’s back real tight.
Even ‘deer could figure out,
That didn’t look quite right.

The farther down the road they went,
The harder LJ pushed his luck.
Taking corners oh so fast,
He nearly hit a truck.

But the ‘deer was focused on the ride,
And stayed right with those two boys.
He was thinking they’d done good,
When they borrowed these two toys.

But that last curve was a sharp one,
And LJ didn’t take it all that well.
How could this much fun,
Turn into a living hell?

LJ leaned that cruiser over far,
As if it were a crotch rocket.
Toerag hung on even tighter,
He was nearly in his pocket.

But the pipes, they hit the road,
And lifted that bike right off the ground.
They slid right off the road,
Yet neither boy made any sound.

Boulders large and yet quite flat,
Were piled on the bank.
LJ’s heart was pounding hard,
And his mind almost nearly sank.

He forgot to let the throttle go,
And when the tires hit the rocks.
The bike was launched into the air,
Nearly yanked them from their socks.

‘Deer watched them flying high,
And landing with a splash.
But he followed them off the road,
Now his bike was also trash!

Never been a bike
what couldn't be rode,
never been a rider
what couldn't be throw'd.

WOW! Can the bikes be fixed?  ...oh yeah, I hope everyone has recovered. *smile*

Road rash is my least favorite STD (that stands for "Spectacularly Transmitted Disease).

I went down hard in Rosewell, New Mexico on a run to Ruidoso (yes, I get a kick out of telling people I crashed in Rosewell).  It was about 2 AM and myself and three other bikes had been running flat out since the last gas stop.  I was first off the highway and pulled into a truckstop/motel area.  In about a hundred yards of what I thought was open apron, there was a stupid piece of curb, probably less than three feet long.  Now, I thought I was only going about 10 or maybe 15 miles an hour (Long hours of high speed screws up my sense of speed).  Anyway, I hit that little curb doing at least 50 miles an hour, maybe more.  The bike and I did a complete cartwheel in the air, which my road friends said was really spectacular; I landed on my right side and spun with the bike in circles as I slid up to the gas pumps.  The bike and I came to a full stop at the far end of the gas island; I was stuck by my right leg under the engine.  When I stopped moving, the little propeller head who was pumping gas that night looked down at me and said with a smile, "Fill 'er up Mac?"  If I could have moved right then, I most likely would have vented my adrenaline on him.

I really do hope everyone is feeling better.  It made for a great poem.

Hey Larry! You didn;'t hear about what happened to Toerag at the bar later on....

The blonde was sitting at the bar and Toe said, "Hiya, hon!
How about you come to my place and we'll have a little fun?"
She said "I'm on my menstrual cycle right now. Sorry, Charlie."
And Toe replied "No problem, gal. I'll follow you on my Harley!!!"

Toe never wuz too smart

This is why I don't ride motorcycles...

Be careful,  it might become three on one...
Need help...call BR549....

Neeraja,
Thanks. That's enough to make my day!

icebox,
LMFO My brother has a place in Ruidoso! So if you crashed in Roswell are you an alien? This story actually happened to a some friends of mine. The front bike was a brand new fully dressed bike. And the back bike was crotch rocket. Totalled both bikes. I have no idea of the dress bike ever was drug from the river. It's not if it's when...

Dixie,
Buckle up it's gonna be a bumpy ride! Thanks.

Michael,
Nancy laughed her fanny off at the news of Toe in the bar! Too funny and thanks.

Barry,
It took a crow bar to get him out of that pocket I'm sure! And three on one may require the cavalry. We'll see how the boys fair!

Rhonda,
There you are! Thanks.

Yanno?..When Balladeer used to ride on the back of my Norton 750, he was always falling off?...I even bought a tee shirt that had a message on the back...it read:

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS THE B_TCH FELL OFF"
