The alarming storms of change I fear have come With autumn leaves fallen from barren branches By strong winds of time, again seized in tumble Comfortable I was, No choice now, but with to run Pondering of my present stride, soon to become past Solace I can find in this unknown session of transition For past at once was present, and present never lasts Sand across the dessert blown, thoughts of soft chaos A life so brief, yet, the memories give untold length Loved ones lost to failures of body, failures of mine Cracked and torn dreams, mutants of enduring hope Scars which to the heart have supplied hard strength Thick ugly masses of toughened soul and mind Absorbed all grief and ache, weighting flux in place Continuance an ever companion, has my smile softened Too slowly to realize, the scars have thinned and faded So long ago, so far away, impacting my life, still today Steps needed to reach my self, steps sunken out of sight, These thoughts do now come, disembodied from my eyes Never asked for, but grateful to, my rough paths plight The moments in this sprint have no strategy of prediction Abruptness is changes gift or curse, and times true nature I know not where I’ll be let off, nor when again will be taken For this moment, a direction obscure, my sprint has no restriction October 13, 2002 1:21am -2:44am |

Wow!! What a Welcome! I can already tell this a going to be a very cool place to be. Thankyou for all the wonderful comments . I post at another poetry forum and it is considered a bit rude to post on your own poems...but it seems to be the opposite here. So it seems like a great place to just say..."Thank you".
