The ground rumbled and roared its complaint,
the skies cried in despair and hopelessness.
Bodies baked, self-torched souls
unable to find safe passageways through
existence upon this Hell called Earth.
Oh, but my heart did scream in mortal pain
to see the light of you
extinguish Life in such a way.
And for what?
What end could ever justify
such desperate means?
Both Heaven and Hell
lose this battle of the soul,
for I do believe your spirits
will wander the skies forever
in disguise of martyrdom,
in constant pain.
And back here on God's gift,
not one human heart did gain
by your horrific acts.

I'm having trouble even writing a reply because this story has sickened me so. Indeed, the self-torching of women is absolutely "horrific"!

Powerful write, Kacy!

Loves 'n hugs,
Linda

Kacy,
I've just about stopped reading the news. I just read you. Besides it's much better social commentary! Sad but true words you've written. Peace...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

It tears the heart.  Sometimes I think we are a thousand years from real peace and equality on this planet.  Other times I kick myself for being an optimist.Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks, ice, and some days I kick myself for not being an optometrist...maybe then I'd see everything more clearly?

Powerful poem...and Kace?

I can testify to the fact that being blind doesn't stop it from happening.

You have the heart of a warrior m'friend.

You just keep writing the truth.

Vandana and Karen, thank you.
We have far too many sisters and brothers out there who are unable to see any hope.
Martyrdom chills the heart and soul.
