(i no its long but please give it a shot)
hello again
said the wandering wind
i'll trade you a diamond for that ship your in
the captain gave in
sinking his family and friends
for the wandering wind with all of her diamonds

hello once again
said the wandering wind
i'll give you a kingdom
for that world your in
so that captain gave in
casting humanity to oblivion

so now what do i do
said the king of his kingdom
there's no one left to rule
from here to oblivion

so once more again
hello said the wind
I'll give you the world
if you give me the man within

but there's no one left here
just me all alone
I can't die now
I have my own throne

so 10 thousand years went by
and once again came the wind
but this time he asked
if you give me your kingdom
I'll give you back the past

and tears fell from the captain, the king
the last member of humanity
I'll give you everything I have if I can just have my past
so once again the wanderering wind cast
this captain of kings back to the past

He opened his eyes and to his surprise
the world was a day old with ash filled skies
what is this what is this
cried the king of the captains
I wanted my past but you've missed
and now I'm here held captive

you're free you're free
said the wandering wind
you're free to rule your kingdom in a time before men

That's a great verse...and such a well thought out poem.

There's lots to be said for never going back again.  Much enjoyed Chris~ and a belated welcome to you.
