Swept off in a summer dream,
must the trees tremble
the sun retreat
the sky bear down.

Need the sparrows
disperse in such frenzy?

How long do i stand
in the center of the storm
bleeding red roses
as lightening pierces
thru these eyes?

Have i numbed or awakened
to love and pain
riding in on the same wisp of cloud?
