(Hey everyone! I was busy recording in a small studio within the past few days and haven't gotten to be on as much! I recorded some songs, and this is one of them that many said touched them deeply that took a lot out of me writing!)

Bit Off More Than I Could Chew
By: Noah Eaton
6/15/03

Verse 1:

Step downstairs and there you are
Aiming at a dartboard you can't seem to par
Noticed you stopping in the middle of a game of cribbage
Your eyes wander in carom but seem to go no distance
Conversation is gapped, we're both in blank draw
Summer dusk's still bright, but it feels like the winter dawn
And I couldn't promise you anything no more
When I'm never finished sweeping this floor...

(small guitar solo)

Verse 2:

And there's some premonition running through my head
When you didn't know where you're going, you meant what you said
Those horoscopes you left in your bureau
Stories left untold, your thespian society chapeau
Vampires gnashing at your jugular vein
Ones you can't run your stake through but you know all their names
I knew this same feeling would rewind at last
I should watch my step, there's all this broken glass...

Chorus:

And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
I feel the knots coming loose
I feel the knots coming loose
And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
It's been so long, where did you go?
What happened, why should I know...

(small guitar solo)

Verse 3:

You never doubted where you were going to
So why is it they put the straight jacket on you?
And there's a fear running through my mind
If you're going to treat the impulse unkind
When you brush your teeth with those benzodiazepines
Chug down the fluoxetines and still your weight is gaining
You say this life can't be the one for me
But then again, it might just be...

Chorus:

And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
I feel the knots coming loose
I feel the knots coming loose
And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
It's been so long, where did you go?
What happened, why should I know...

Bridge:

And there is nothing I can do for you...

(small guitar solo)

So this is where I leave you...

(small guitar solo)

Verse 4:

You left it all behind too long ago
Cross my fingers that it'll show
I know now there's nothing of me you can't remember
You don't even realize when it becomes December
And I lay the anchor down to leave you at bay
Cause it's too dangerous to even attempt to feel sane
Just talking about that is a whole different song altogether
A whole different tuning, played one time shorter...

Chorus:

And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
I feel the knots coming loose
I feel the knots coming loose
And I bite off more than I could chew
I bite off more than I could chew
It's been so long, where did you go?
What happened, why should I know...

Why should I know...
Why should I know...
Why should I know...

Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story

***Shakira***

Now we have Noah the song writer and poet.
You have been a busy young man.  Keep going.
After all...only one thing stands in your
way...your own feet...

So that is what you have been doing! That is terrific! How I would love to hear your voice singing your words--I imagine that it matches your sweet face.

Powerful emotions and imagery!

Loves 'n huggums,

Noah, I would also like to hear the music you have written with the song and to hear you singing it. This is really great, Noah. I'm glad that you've been doing something that you love so much.
Hugs
Ethel
