sometimes I think I could burn a hole in my ceiling from staring at it too hard perhaps it would be a window to answers the night sky, maybe willing to narrow it's scope, to be less than it's billions of possibilities or perhaps that is impossible for it to do.... then.... it is left to me I've entered into that storied age where I know only this-- I don't know anything where the sun will rise-- but it's light reveals no insight certainly not past the skin of those I travel with (smoky glass, etched with ciphers) even my own... so many layers in us competing for screentime... I am fascinated yet I shy away from a window so large ....to see so much frightens.... I narrow it as much as I can I am called a good man yet I see the proof of the opposite around me in all of my familiar faces I feel love filling me for all people yet my lips can curl impatient and bitter as I stalk away from them my child is bright and alive yet I fear the seeds of darkness I may have planted there I feel the outreaching hands of love caressing my face or is it a shimmering oasis on the horizon? is MY love? I, still, am amazed at the reach of us our capacities to heal, to harm to forgive, to avenge to flip like a coin in the moon twinkling as mysterious as these stars only I see these coins have more than two sides and therefore ARE stars sharing light but so far apart...... I close the window in my ceiling turning eyes to the dim light of a bedside lamp it is said "we are here to learn...." I pick up a quarter and narrow it down: heads of hope tails of despair I flip it high towards the ceiling flick the lightswitch and the sounds *click* *clickityclick* I will learn tomorrow |

Bri I'm in the same place, on any given day..at any given moment..to love and hate with the same intensity. To have the reasoning to know what I have to do and then ignore it. To adore The Two Towers and yet despise those two scenes I've mentioned before. A vicious cycle I'm sick of, I'm just looking for a glipse of colour too dude..if I find any answers I'll be sure to share.. |

What is there to say...the sky searches itself here. You have written "the struggle"-- The need to understand all through the understanding self. "narrow it down"--only to find universes within universes--don't it hurt the head, baby? ouch. Mad Viking Genius. and clear liquid light. This is eternal bri. You are a lovely soul... |

sometimes I think I could burn a hole in my ceiling from staring at it too hard perhaps it would be a window to answers ~*~ Last night, had that hole occurred, the moon would have pulled you through... So many thoughts... each connected yet like a hermit, rambling off to find destiny May we all learn... in tomorrow... |

Brian...wow...I am in awe of this. "sometimes I think I could burn a hole in my ceiling from staring at it too hard perhaps it would be a window to answers the night sky, maybe willing to narrow it's scope, to be less than it's billions of possibilities or perhaps that is impossible for it to do.... then.... it is left to me" Love the thought of this, and the image created in my mind. And this... "to flip like a coin in the moon twinkling as mysterious as these stars only I see these coins have more than two sides and therefore ARE stars sharing light but so far apart...... I close the window in my ceiling turning eyes to the dim light of a bedside lamp it is said "we are here to learn...." I pick up a quarter and narrow it down: heads of hope tails of despair I flip it high towards the ceiling flick the lightswitch and the sounds *click* *clickityclick* I will learn tomorrow" Gawd...I just love that...SO COOL, you are. Hugs to you, friend... "it is better to be a part of beauty |

I wasn't going to read this. It's long, and I haven't been able to concentrate on a long poem in quite a while. Reading takes work, and I've only just started reading short things again. (That means I'm getting better! YAY!) However, I read the first few lines, and I was hooked. You held my attention the whole way through, and I'm still in awe.... It's profound, and I love that, and it explores a great feeling. Not great to have.... but I've been there. I like it very much. Kielo |

This was was tucked away...and lucky for me some of your fans pulled it from its shelf for another round. "I've entered into that storied age where I know only this-- I don't know anything" That line says so, so much Brian...you words speak for millions (including me) "my child is bright and alive yet I fear the seeds of darkness I may have planted there" OMG! It's like you are reading my mind with this one...I feel this way so much, I see that things are better, but will those "dark" shadows fledge forth again and cause me to lose the wonderful things that I have??? Geez...you really made me think with this one! It was (for lack of a better word)...EXQUISITE! Into the library this one goes! Some women wait for something to change and nothing does, so they change themselves. |

Man...you sure have a way with words. You are a very talented poet. I liked this alot: "I, still, am amazed at the reach of us our capacities to heal, to harm to forgive, to avenge to flip like a coin in the moon twinkling as mysterious as these stars" Thanks for sharing! Jai |

brian Pondering and thoughtful...could see your heart quite beautiful with questions. Is it tomorrow yet? Hmmm, I guess there never is tomorrow, only today and yesterday. |

Brian, As you can see by the responses above, you have touched on the universal. And well done, sir. This is the intelligent human curse. Inescapable, but in its own way, nourishing. It is the questions that keep me alive, not the answers. Kraw' |
