I find women to be a mystery;
my own history is littered
with the train wrecks
of too many relationships.
Now don't misunderstand me,
I am not trying to claim innocence
for all of them,
just some.
Well, OK,
maybe just a few,
but really
who knew going in to any relationship
that I was not perfect;
yes,
I knew it's true,
but I never thought I gave away that secret,
and in my own defense
I have always tried to learn.
For the goddess' sake,
learning is the only real purpose in life,
to choose,
to learn from the choice,
to make a new choice,
to learn from the choice,
and so on
forever
or until I'm dead,
which ever comes first.
Of course sometimes
I have made such bad choices
that I would thirst for death
before I faced the mess I made.
Do you know,
I have never left a woman in my life?
It's true!
I admit,
a few have died,
but none of those were crimes
under anybody's laws.
So what is it
that I'm missing in these modern times,
that I always feel
like I am just disposable,
good only when I'm new.
I've heard more than a few women
say that men are like new stockings;
we're the best until a run appears,
a flaw,
and then it's in the trash with us,
just completely done.

Not just woman, my friend, but men...and you know what?, without all that mystery, it wouldn't be near as interesting or fun. IMHO...Hugs, you!

I used to just break out the clear nail polish and stop the run...too darn expensive to go throwing away every time I got a snag...but I haven't worn stockings in so long, I think I would not be able to stand having to wear them now.

Midnitesun ~ I suppose it is possible the there may be a few men who have little quirks which could in some circumstances be sen as confusing...maybe...

Dark Angel ~ I have spend most of my life (it seems) trying to survive women.  I am ready to turn the case over to a new investigator!

Kahlil ~ That is funny...I was pretty old before I understood that my life had been less ordinary.

Margherita ~ Well, please don't get me wrong here.  I have loved many women.  I always found it easy to see the lovable aspects of most women, but I have never been blind to their flaws either.  So, when one is manifest in some situation, it rarely was a deal breaker.  I find that most women are fairly unforgiving; that ends up teaching men to be cold and callous.  I realize that in general, women's lives are harder and more complicated than most men's lives; I really do think that is true, and I know that many men could treat women better in relationships, but I think that many women also could treat men better.  Who is perfect?

vlraynes ~ I am glad that people have enjoyed this poem; I actually had fun writing it.  I am glad no one got really angry with me about it.  Or, maybe they just didn't write anything...hmmm...

passing shadows ~ I never understood why women wear them anyway.  Yes, I admit to being able to enjoy a woman who looks at clothing as playing with costumes, and stockings can be part of that, but it is like make-up, other than using it as a toy, I just don't understand it.  Do you guys know how terrible most lipstick tastes? ...and perfume!  Most of the stuff should be outlawed.  Maybe I am really weird, but I like the scent of a woman.

JamesMichael ~ Hmmm...maybe that is my problem.  Somewhere along the line, I stopped being what they wanted me to be.

Nan ~ Oh yeah!  Men are easy.  For the most part all a heterosexual man wants in a woman is that she will show up, be reasonably on time, say what she means and mean what she says and be fairly willing to do almost anything that is not self destructive; sex and a good sense of humor are high on the list of valued characteristics.  The few percentage points of heterosexual men who want something else rent it.

According to your title you insinuate that women are not people??  (I don't have time to do spell check, have a meeting in a few, so suck it up if I mess up).
Okay here is the deal; you explain a couple of specific things about men to me and I will explain the bare facts about women...
As for the pantyhose...nope don't wear them either they are smoothering...lol  anyway...as for your comment about being disposible..hmmm...sounds like you are just too sweet and they took advantage...sigh...life just isn't fair sometimes...who loves you baby?
