Ankle deep,
Steps in and out of miracles
Shells in strewn of grasses bending in the winds
Pausing just to listen near the point of no return
Trek in sands from harbor to unknown relinquished dims

Stares,
The little that I keep collecting into medicine bags
Unconsciously, I perk as auditory fingerprints reminds
And something that was lost awhile, my intuition finds
Along the water, where the sky has never touched the earth

And I am mostly fallible, sometimes only in my mind
The frailty never quite occurred, nor will it be assigned
While I seem ever wandering into the open forest found
Somehow to travel distances, for instances I'm bound

I'm smiling in the surprise of this--the meandering meter is deceptively gentle--how you managed to pack message-filled punches with a feather-light touch is beyond me. (I truly admire that ability.)

Amazing grace, TD....

So beautifully constructed--the first stanza sets the tone--both detachment and discovery--Second stanza illustrates lusciously an inner turmoil:

"Stares,
The little that I keep collecting into medicine bags
Unconsciously, I perk as auditory fingerprints reminds
And something that was lost awhile, my intuition finds
Along the water, where the sky has never touched the earth

And the third nicely rounded out the introspection--I felt like I was walking in your footprints on the beach, and followed you as you carefully side-stepped grasses that might have hidden nests of waterfowl.

My. smile. You inspire.
