Prepare for meeting, boss has no time
Have an idea, can't buy a rhyme
Hoping tomorrow won't be so sour
Sometimes it's just not my hour.

Aching for joys that aren't meant to be
Knowing my problems mostly are me
Hoping oblivion finds me soon
Sometimes it's just not my noon.

Coming in third in a two horse race
Sprinting towards finish, running in place
Spirits as flat as a fallen souffle'
Sometimes it's just not my day.

Losing five pounds then splitting my jeans
Meeting ones who don't know what love means
My own reflection is cause for fright
Sometimes it's just not my night.

Flat broke now, payday's not till next week
Can't hide from pain, can't find what I seek
Relaxation techniques just cause more strife
Sometimes it's just not my life.

Oh Suthern...I frequently have "one of those times" while I remain stuck in the "mire and muck".

We shall have a wonderful tomorrow...both you and I...'cause, honey, we deserve it!

A great write about which I can certainly relate.

Ah, Ruth, my friend, it's like that saying I agree with "Life - one day it's kicks, then it's kicks in the shins."  We just keep on keepin' on. It's all we can do. Great write though. hugs, Chris

suthern...loved the rhythm and rhyme in this, and the message was clear...you are going to have better days.  I saw a touch of humor, that's a good thing.

Ain't it the way.....can't count the days I've felt exactly the like that.....this one, for instance.....

Well written, Suthern lady, you gift us with the feeling of it, without becoming depressive or maudlin...which would be so easy to fall into with that feeling. You have a touch, and I'm glad you're touching us more often these days. It's good, even if it hurts!

Toerag: ROFLMAO! But at least he got out of the starting gate? LOL Thank you so much... and I'll work on that quitting schtuff. *S*

JM: If we didn't laugh... we'd write whines like this, right? *G* Thank you, lady... maybe I just need cooler weather. *G*

Seymour: You are a dear... thank you so much! *S*

Nightshade: "Sometimes you're happy and sometimes you're sad but the world goes 'round"... I love Kander and Ebb! *S* Thank you so much, dear lady. *S*

jellybeans: Stuck with each other? *S* I'll admit you got the raw end of the deal... but you're one of MY blessings! *S* Thank you! *S*

Martie: I sure hope so. *S* And humor's the only thing that allows me to put up with myself sometimes... I laugh at my own sulking. *G* Thank you! *S*

nakdthoughts: It actually started with the buses... and the day went downhill. *S* Thank you! *S*

Ratleader: In spite of this wailing and gnashing of teeth, I wouldn't wish such a day on anyone... especially you, my friend. *S* But I'm glad you find the good through the hurt... thank you very much! *S*

I still think you have a way with words..it's like a bare and grin it type of thing you got going on...does that even make sense through the hardships of pain you still make light of it and make me smile! thank you...

Suthern, I certainly hope this is all tongue-in-cheek!--It is?--Good! Now I can laugh my pants off!

Clever, witty--and reminded me of days that I have had like that!

You are a joy to read!
