Forbidden beauty,
In my view.
Love from afar -
You don't know how I want you.
The curves of your body
The smile on your face...
I am enchanted by you
But your skin I'll never taste.

For our worlds are split
Our beliefs, not the same.
If you ever knew,
Would our friendship remain?
We're separated by your religion
[And my lack thereof...]

Please, open your mind
Open your heart -
Your beautiful, poetic heart...
And take a risk.
Take me!

I surrender myself to my daydreams
Until you return my love.
I admire your strength
But I envy the Lord -
You've given yourself to Him.
To Her.
[Please, let it be Her...]

Are you interested?
Do you think of me that way?
Do I even have a chance?

Don't tell me.

Fantasy is always better
Than reality.

The rain pours heavily...
As heavily as my labored breath upon your cheek
As the darkness cloaks our bodies
Hides us from the cruel and prejudiced world.

Forever, in my mind
I keep our Love -
The affair you'll never know you had.
It's yours to share
If only you'll see
That we don't have to be
Just friends.

But until you see me here...
Until I feel your lips on mine,
You'll remain in my heart
Two seats away...
My forbidden beauty.

Beautiful words of love and longing, yet such a sad situation.

Take care.......Sue

Courage!  Reach out and ask.  Better to be washed in the despair of rejection than to die wondering "What if...."

A very well written poem.  Thank you for sharing it.
