Daddy’s Hands Daddy’s Hands were giant hands, When I was very small. As I grew those hands did change, No giant there at all. They became the ticklers, The wrestlers, the strength. They held me down for whisker rubs, Only he would know the length. As the years grew steady on, Those hands were always there. To deal with every punishment, To comfort every care. Those hands dried tears so numerous, From anger and from pain. Those hands held up a tired soul, Who stumbled ‘neath the strain. Those hands now teach my little ones, Though etched throughout the years. Another generations come, For comforting of tears. As I’ve grown to womanhood, Those hands right by my side. I realize I’ll always be, A Daddy’s girl inside. [This message has been edited by Marilyn (06-15-2003 07:35 PM).] |

Marilyn, Nothing gets to me like a daddy's girl. What a touching write and an incredible tribute. Bless you and your daddy. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
