I’ve been hiding lately behind a mask that really isn’t me Thinking it would free my thoughts to have a brand new fake identity I’m simply tired of trying to write and have it measured line by line By those the closest in my life Why is it that each flaw they seem to find? I became another It doesn’t matter when, or how, or who Hiding does not work for me but it helped me realize the naked truth My writing is my freedom Expression of the essence in my soul To those who think they have the right no longer will I write as I am told… So, this is me Take it or leave it I have taken back my pen No longer will I close the door that holds my feelings in Just take what’s there Or simply leave it That is how it has to be For in the end, I can’t pretend I’m anyone but me… Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart ~~S~~ |

Oh, thank you Nancy...as you know, we all sometimes fall into writing only what we think certain people want to hear. Well, it's easy to lose the art that way. But, as long as we learn to be true to ourselves, no matter what, then the lessons that come to us are growth measures. oh I understand this well.....though I have never given up my pen, for it is truly 'me', I have stopped sharing or showing any of my work to who is supposed to be my 'closest' for even my prayers, he finds reason for fault |
