12/6/02

Sometimes I wish I could strip away sight, so that then I could know what it means
To truly see.
Erase the masks and facades
Eliminate images of deception that trick the eye into love
Be done with lust
Confusion.
See people for who they are...
Feel them
And what they mean to me.
No sight, no vision...
Only telepathy
Yes, telepathy -
For the sound of a voice would give the Devil's game away.
Sometimes I wish I could strip away my sense of touch, so that then I could know what it means
To truly feel.
The senses deceive the mind, heart, and soul.
The senses are the only true (d)evil
Temptations of the body
Distractions for the mind
Conspiracy against emotion
Hiding truth.
Sometimes I wish I could strip away all things of the senses, so that then
And only then
I could truly be free.

Welcome to Passions. I can relate to this piece, though without our senses what would life really be?

Great post to open with here at pip. I too am a new writer on the boards, but can assure you that this is a place to pitch camp and make a home. Welcome.

I wanted to quote the entire poem.  This is wonderfully straight forward and to the point.  It's an unfortunate situation and I commend you for writing it in depth.

(sigh) Yes, I think without our senses we can indeed feel undisturbed, but then again, do we still really feel free if we can't see or feel? (big hugggssssssss) Think about it just one more time over! This is a fabulous debut, sweet friend, well-done! Welcome to Passions, sweet Echo, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Echo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
