Weeping Willow

Ah!
Weeping Willow why do thee weep?
In the course
of
time you have lost your richest soils and life sustaining waters.
Your roots sliced and covered with highways
of
smothering cement and buildings of steel and concrete.

Ah!
Weeping Willow why do thee weep?
Has the sun left you with no warmth
or
has the wind turned to another with his tender loving embrace?
Your roots drenched in an undying thirst that no amount
of
polluted waters can begin to quench or sustain.

Ah!
Weeping Willow why do thee weep?
Your branches sweeping low kissing the ground
that you
so
dearly love.
The sun returning and the wind kissing your wizened
branches of delicate flowering bloom.
The rain nourishing your roots so they may grow and sink deep into
the hardened clay.
The season of spring has once again returned.
Lift your branches high and capture the sun, wind, and the soothing rain.
Weep no more my beautiful Weeping Willow.
Weep no more.

Why The Willow Weeps

A bird sat in top of my Willow Tree
Singing at the top of his voice
As I walked under him, he crapped on me
At that I didn't rejoice.

I looked out the window and happened to see,
A dog cock his leg by my willow tree,
At wetting the tree he was quite adept,
And that is why me and the willow wept.

Nature

The bee is such a busy soul
He has no time for birth control
That is why in times like these,
There are so many "Son's of Bees"

Loved your poem gal..and I thank you
for your replies to my junk....luvya..Toe

Bonnie~
I love the graceful movement of the Weeping Willow ... and surely they 'talk' in softest whisper~
Nicely conveyed thoughts~

Oh my gosh ... now THAT'S funny ... and surely poetic ammunition for the ToeMan to use in his ongoing word-slinging with Balladeer~
