What then is love, a white doves breath? A whisper on the wind of time? Is it the soft caress of youth or found only within a rhyme? As lovers dance under the moon do they have love, or borrowed heart? A touch of passion in the mist or just the prelude to apart? Is love the reason we exist or does the pain of loss preside? And in the end, what have we left except the knowledge that we tried. |

Ah love sweet love...or is it? So many questions penned beautifully here Sandra. Sometimes love just doesn't seem worth the pain..yanno? I understand this so well... they say 'it's better to have loved and lost.. than never to have loved at all' But sometimes you have to wonder... Excellent write sweet poetess... Good to read you here today. ~Soft smiles & hugs, Nancy~ ~The breeze that kissed you on the face, |

A beautiful offering, Sandra... I agree with your questions but I still submit John Lennon's answer that "love is all you need", for I truly believe, in all its incarnations and facets that Love is the meaning of life... -MVS You CAN make a difference: |

We tried and that's what's important. And love is always the reason for living. ~Elizabeth Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

Hi catalinamoon... I love... "As lovers dance under the moon do they have love, or borrowed heart? A touch of passion in the mist or just the prelude to apart?" I really like this one. It's something everyone can relate to. There are times when you can't help but think, "why am I bothering?" but I guess that if we don't try, we'll never find "the one". As lovers dance under the moon do they have love, or borrowed heart? A touch of passion in the mist or just the prelude to apart? You write the bittersweetness with a tender heart, and you break me every time. So nice, Sandra~ |

Beautiful. Like one of the other comments above--- "It's better to have loved, and lost than to never have loved at all." I think that's a very romanticized thought. I see it's validity, and without love all things die, but I still believe that adage is romanicized. Love brings with it prices to pay that leave behind more harm that it does good in some situations. I never thought this 'til a few years back, but we are *all* influenced in some way, or another by things, or by the people we encounter in life. I just know it changed my mind about the adage. Love is still the greatest thing of all though. It's the one thing that can bring hope out of chaos in a mind, and heart. It's the one thing that can heal it all! Yes, I do believe the last verse just about says it all for me! I feel every line of this as if it came from my own heart, my friend, and will only add that you have an amazing talent that I enjoy tremendously! ~V~ I speak from the Voice Of Experience |

Sandra, I have read through this many times, as I am drawn to it, to the unanswered questions, and the feeling of hope that lies behind them. That is just this poet's opinion, but this beautiful poem gives me reason for much thought.....well done, lil sis!! Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart ~~S~~ |
