Two Sides To A Coin.

Your smile will be the end of me,
It’s beauty I cannot sustain,
It makes my heart both slave and free,
And brings both joy and pain...

It brings joy to gaze upon your beauty,
At once my heart is made glad,
Yet it fills my soul with agony,
To long for what I cannot have.

You bring me joy in the morning,
Like the chirping birds or calm summer air,
Yet my evenings hold woeful mourning,
In missing you since you’re not here.

Never had my ears heard a sweeter sound,
Than the melody of your cheerful laugh,
Yet it haunts me when you’re not around,
Like a ghost that thrives in the past.

Your bright eyes have slain my resistance,
To the hypnotic charm of your grace,
Gazing into them I am lost in an instant,
Never will I find a lovelier place.

Alas you’re my snare and my sustenance,
My cure and yet my disease,
I hate to lose all control of composure,
But I need you, like the air I breathe.

Take my breath, replace it with your touch,
Let me live in this one joyous moment,
Never have I loved another so much,
That I feel you more than even myself.

Torn between joy and pain,
Is my heart, both slave and free,
Your beauty I cannot sustain,
Your smile will be the end of me.

I'm still in love with your words...

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

"Never have I loved another so much,
That I feel you more than even myself."

That is merely the beginning; imagine where it goes from there.

Thank you for sharing this.

Gabriel...This is a beautifully romantic poem full of yearning for the love of your soul. For it seems that in your words is the cry of every human heart...love me for I long to be loved. ***Ivy Rose
