Condemnation
Degradation
Molestation
with tetrameters
seem to be the norm
filth is embraced
Poetic license for poetic porn

As bleeding emotion
and imagination

Dark expression
to loves first kiss

Reverie,serenity
true creative bliss

Foxyoasis - thank you & I will be looking for your poetry

Kahlil - another name I am not familiar enough with - I'm sorry I will be looking for you writings as well

Raph - I'm here - was becoming frustrated with the room thats all

Littlewing - you know all to well what I speak of

ok here goes my one & only rant:

In my humble opinion many poets have been writing garbage that is being responded to with open arms, rather than being either ignored or pulled, while true poetry goes unnoticed & fades off the boards.
Too many poets have become predictable, or worse - offensive.

By the way Littlewing there are many members I enjoy - yourself, raph, & many others. Many whom I enjoy though, sadly respond to that garbage though & it was begginning to frustrate me to the point that I had stopped posting. However - I feel that is a cop-out so I have begun posting again.

Thanks again for reading & write on my friends - I look forward to reading your poetry

. . . all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream  . . .

When "language" of a lesser degree seems to cause sensationalism, there are a lot of folk who think "gee, I can write as base as that, too!"  It is a huge turn-off, isn't it, DB?  Glad you're back...

I would only say that to some..one mans trash is anothers treasure.

I may not fully appreciate the art form poetry..and I certainly do not take it so seriously as to think I in my infinite wisdom can say what is or is not poetry. I guess it is a bit to me like music..I may not like nor appreciate the washboard and spoons...but I can not deny it is music.

perhaps I am far too simple minded...
I thought people wrote becuase they had something to say..whether personal or a larger view of the social condition. I'm guessing that "real" poetry...after reading you comments and your post is something else.

go figure... the dumb old country boy once again oversimplifies things and misunderstands... one of these days I am going to have to get one of those signs to wear..one that announces to the world I am just an old country boy so don't expect me to get it.

Who's to say who is or isn't a "True" poet? If it comes from the heart, who has a right to judge? Erotic poetry has its place.

Passing shaddows - Thank-you - smiles I do enjoy your writing sorry I havent been responding

Inkedgoddess - why the tears? you are too beautiful of a poet - & I couldnt bear to see you cry

Sunshine / Karilea - Both of your names are beautiful & you are truly sunshine - on one of my first posts I believe it was chasing windmills you were so kind & nicknamed me DQ - you are one of the reasons I could never leave the room
btw - nice pic dear poet

Gemjop - sounds like you truly understood this & I will be looking for you poetry as well

Cpat - lol trust me if you knew my background that country boy comment is funny {my southern drawl makes me stand out here in NY}- please allow me clarify a bit - I'm referring to only a handful of poets, that I've read shaking my head due to content. In open rather than in mature and also contained writing that wasnt erotic but disturbing. I may be too much of an old fashioned gentleman - but I anger quickly when women are shown disrespect or someone cant express themselves without getting vulgar. Last note - I am open to all styles of poetry from freestyle to Sonnets - & I love dark poetry to humor - Poetry is expression & I love all types of poetry.
I will be watching for your name & am sure I will enjoy your poetry

Paula - I love erotic poetry - but I believe it has a forum other than open & I equate erotic with passionate not degrading
I believe the open forum should be free of degradation, vulgar language, or content that shouldnt be viewed by minors.I hope that if I ever crossed the line with a poem or misjudged its placement by putting it in open it would be moved to a dark or mature content forum & discussed with me.I appreciate your defense & assume we probably agree more than disagree - I will be looking for your poetry as I'm sure I will enjoy it.

I had to come back & apologize for if I offended anyone it was not my intent & although I love a poet whom I can click on & not know what I will see, I do love all forms of poetry. I just hope we can express ourselves without seeming to degrade anyone & use the proper forums rather than open when appropriate.

dream:

I know what your saying
I do not think you offended
anyone . . . I know you love it
here and you appreciate everyone
greatly - as they appreciate you
but it is nice to see your
sentiments - not many would do that

I think we all go through these same moments
at one time or another...I know I have...
You certainly have not offended me,  after
all...you are expressing a feeling and that
is perfectly ok in my book...

I accept your opinion, but I feel the urge to say that I disagree to a point.. Perhaps I misunderstood you, but I encourage all people to write. Poetry is a beautiful form of expression, even if it isn't put beautifully. As long as it means something to the author, it shouldn't be condemned. However, I completely understand your point about keeping vulgarity off a family forum.

I liked your poem.
