Loose Thread

I pulled a thread in my heart and
Unraveled a sensitive part
Raw to the touch, sore to the dream
A thread that opened a seam

A tone was set, a step of woe
On which my dragon stubbed his toe
And smoke and fire belched in cry
And angry red stained his eye

And from the roaring came a flood
Dammed up brine that turned to blood
That rang out in an echoes cry
And turned the sky to livid lie.

Thunder splashed and lightning flashed
And crashed to jagged thoughts backlash
Stained the pallor of my skin
And turned my thinking into spin

Reared a hydra’s head of verse
That ended in a stream of curse
That sent me into wiles of Hyde
Actions that I could not abide

It opened up Pandora’s box
Set free once more the paradox.

I love being on your wavelength; we almost posted simulataneously - so there is no way I read this before posting mine...but I guess the muses are at work, and just didn't change theme...

LOL...

Good morning Sy!

Seymour - my goodness, what a write this morning! How do you manage? Each day is a new beginning I know - but - I guess your muse has no need of rest. Unlike some of us whose muses often vacate their homes totally!! lol.  Toast and blueberry jam with tea? lovely. hugs, Chris

Chris,
It's your love, generousity and muffens that does it.

Thank you for this read, Sy -- rich and powerful this imagery, and the cadence/rhyme a touch different for you...?
