An invitation
I would leave,
folded ‘neath
your sleeping door

if but for chance
silhouette against
the breaking dawn

should you wake,
find it there…

wonder if I too, am near

my love
the sky is starless
as you sleep

and I, beckoning
a moment with your heart

to rest
just for the night, here
where we dreamed
such fleeting things
as love

where I earned
every burn

a moment
with your heart
my love

So pretty, and how fitting for her delicate wings.
The Birthday gal is sure to love it!

Very nice sentiment Duncan~

I'm actually terrified of moths, always have been, always will be, but our janet marie is the exception. always there with a kind response, and she doesnt flap about in a fashion that makes me run for the hills, though she might when she finds out i dont like moths....

    happy birthday sweetheart!

lovely tribute dunc.

Y'know, a Moth just has to love
a porch puppy....

especially when they drag in the very best!

She'll smile, Dunc...she'll smile!

What a touching poem....

When I opened it, I expected a bit of greeting card verse that would go with the title...what I found was so much more that I'm embarrassed to admit that first expectation....

This is well worthy of the person for whom it was written, and I'm going right now to look for more of your work. You are on my list!
