From the land of Camelot

Soft candles glowing, chilled bottle of wine
A window's magnificent view
The smells of the dinner are simply sublime
There's a single red rose on the table for two...

No reservations required in advance
The lady alone waits for you
Her perfume and gown hint at later romance
But it all has it's start at the table for two...

It's an everyday table you bought long ago
That is used in your everyday life
Tonight it's transformed and she hopes you will know
That she's still so much more than an everyday wife!

Into the house so familiar, but yet
You sense there is something amiss
The soft music plays but it's tune you forget
As you're led to the table by way of a kiss...

Mystery plays in the smile on her lips
Her plans are a secret to you
She reaches across with her soft fingertips
And the night comes alive at the table for two...

Softly romantic! I love your table for two ... and it should be like that, we can do more out of our everyday tables.
Very beautiful.
Love, Margherita

Your fantasy went on a rampage with this one.  Beautiful - just beautifully romantic.  I can picture the bottle of wine, candle light and music.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

VOE...

This one was beautiful. I guess there are times when we start to take our partners for granted. But it's a nice surprise to be reminded like this!

There are few skills as beautiful as making an everyday object into one of beauty and romance.

Great write! I enjoyed reading this.

Very hopeful that even these less than thrilling relationships have a chance for romance.
