I am just a simple balladeer with some small tales to tell. I wonder if I'm competent enough to do it well. I hear my friends encourage me to take up pen and write I see imagination's gleam to fill my mind with light. I want my words to have the strength to weave a magic spell. I am just a simple balladeer with some small tales to tell. I pretend my fantasies are real. People think they are. I feel that in one's inner mind can one achieve full power. I touch a chord of melancholy with the tales I write I worry that I will not dream when I turn out the light. I cry to think senility may one day still my bell I'm just a simple balladeer with some small tales to tell. I understand that nothing last forever. Nor will I I say that there are things that I must tell before I die. I dream of writing tender things to touch somebody's soul. I try to make enlightenment and joy as my main goal. I hope that when one thinks of me, he'll think "He did it well". I'm just a simple balladeer with some small tales to tell. |

I try to make enlightenment and joy as my main goal. I hope that when one thinks of me, he'll think "He did it well". ========================= You are right on both accounts.. You are not just a 'simple Balladeer" MISTER! You are perhaps one of the finest poets that I have ever had to priviledge to read and know and this answer to the challenge is perfect....okay you're manager has spoken Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |

Balladeer - you may be a simple Balledeer, but one heck of a writer. Now I want to see the romantic one you speak of... BC |

smiling the only thing I do not like about this is one word--and that is "just" JUST a simple balladeer. You, sir, are delightful in your naivety. You have absolutely no idea how much you mean to us all, and that "just" makes you all the more charming. |

Balladeer, brother poet: You ARE the master storyteller. Our mentor, and our craft. Did I ever thank you for telling me of PIP? It was one of the most wonderful gifts, I have ever received. TD |

well, I just answered each response individually and, upon going to post it, it all disappeared!!! I guess the senility part is already here! So I'll just say thank you all very much and it's always been a wonderful pleasure being here with you all |

Every time I read your work, it puts a smile on my face...I have to stand in line to say that I don't see you as simple at all, but complex and magnificent in your work!! (Stop laughing, I really meant that!!!) ~V~ I speak from the Voice Of Experience |

I say that there are things that I must tell before I die. I dream of writing tender things to touch somebody's soul. I try to make enlightenment and joy as my main goal. I hope that when one thinks of me, he'll think "He did it well". I'm just a simple balladeer with some small tales to tell. For some reason, this reminds me of your poem about writing for the simple, ordinary man. *S* And there's no question of competency... you succeed so very well... and always find a tale worth telling. *S* Beautiful work, my friend. *S* |

There is nothing "simple" about the way you tell a tale, sweet poet. Always flowing, always a message, always a warmth that makes me smile from ear to ear. Loved this, my 'deer. Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |

Michael, you are a Hallmark poet or perhaps a Reader's Digest one, given that is more for the people. Challenge well met. I remember how disappointed I was the second time this challenge was posted and you did not respond. Well you have more than countered the disappointment I felt at that time. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Enrapt, I am... You simply take the magic in stride, those intricate rhythms in rhyme, a Balladeer's voice in musical tide disarms me time after time... Oh, the tales that you might weave, dreams borne on midnight's ember shall light the night if you believe forget-me-nots stay December. As for the soul you wish to wake you harbor mine for ransom, spellbound in a twinkling take thru windows blue and handsome, Bloom vistas I have never seen, sing sweet strains of laughter, soft-touch peal, fairways green I'm captured forever after.
