I am overly selfless and underly nurtured
I wonder why God put the stars in the places He did
I hear the voices in other people's heads
I see the way that reality collides with fantasy
I want to be loved for who I am not who I pretend to be
I am overly selfless and underly nurtured

I pretend that I'm fine when I'm dying inside
I feel trapped in your bubble
I touch the remains of a dying universe
I worry that I'll never find real love
I cry about him more than I used to but less than I should
I am overly selfless and underly nurtured

I understand that most of my doubts are unfounded
I say that I will be okay
I dream of a two story house with a white picket fence and all that goes with that
I try to love people as much as I love my horse
I hope that happieness doesn't stay away too long
I am overly selfless and underly nurtured

Rhonda...you KNOW I love this glimpse into
your deeper self...although...I do believe
I've seen it before..   It's great to see
it in poetic form, though.  Love ya..

Rhonda, thank you for letting us see inside
you. I can tell that you're not selfish and
that you think of others feelings more than
you do you own. You will have true love and
happiness one day....with the white picket
fence and all that goes with it. How could someone
as loving and nice as you not have your hearts desire?
Hugs
Ethel

I loved this, and can relate to this part very much....

You seem to know and understand yourself very well. Now start appreciating your SELF more and treat yourself as well as you treat everyone else, Dear One!--Afterall, you are the Fire that lights up the Sky!

P.S. I not only like your poetry, I like YOU!

Well...I love these glimpses into other poet's souls.  But is it "I am" or just how we percieve ourselves to be.  For anyone who shares and bares her soul as you have done is as lovely as they come!

Oh Skyfire, sister poet:
I have so enjoyed this challenge and the opportunity to see how others see...
You ARE a kind and caring woman, who glows so brightly in these lines.
Well done. TD
