I am, 2003

I am a person of age, and grace
I wonder of soul mates and evermore
I hear light spark and evergreens breathe
I see stars gleam on an ocean’s shore
I want my desires to take root and please
I am a person of age, and grace.

I pretend that I am strong, even when I am not
I feel linguistics in my soul, a virtual polyglot
I touch feathers to a center, that spot within a brain
I worry that I can’t relieve so much heartfelt pain
I cry when my throat has closed on so much human grief
I am a person of age, and grace…and this is my belief.

I understand how I love and how I would love you
I say I believe in everything, in hopes that some comes true
I dream that I shall be a touch upon your very self
I try to bring some comfort, like that book upon your shelf
I hope to be remembered for some silly little thing
I am a person of age, and grace, that a light to you, I’d bring.
