this enormous love we feel
If we used every word in the universe
they still would not feel as real

No, words do not seem to be sufficient
to tell this love we feel
There are never quite enough of them
of our feelings to reveal

As much as we both try
to each other our love to tell
After each of our words
we feel we seem to fail

For the looks that we exchange
words could never replace
Or love expressed to me
upon your handsome face

As our hands touch softly
with their tender touch
Or these feelings in our hearts
of the love we feel so much

And oh, the kisses we share
as our lips tenderly meet
The passion of our kiss
words do not provide this treat

Our arms as they are around
holding each other close
Words could never tell
the love felt by those

What a beautiful poem you've chosen to mark your milestone... and you're absolutely right... even we poets, as enamored with words as we are... can't adequately describe the joy of finding the right person... guess that's why love communicates so well without words. *S*

How wonderful it is to see that someone has few words for the love that they feel, for love is a verb, and quite often words can never replace actions. I enjoy your love of poetry and poetry of love so much. Congratulatons Ethel.

I know how you feel, If I go for days without writing poetry and letting my heart express itself I feel I am going to bust..and then there are not enough words to describe how you are feeling....great poem!

Ethel, darlin', it amazes me how many poems on one theme you can write! But then, you have an inexhaustible supply of inspiration from your hunky Honey-Love! You have a whole book of love poems already written and ready to go to a publisher!
