Wings of Revelations

Tawny wings flutter
Soft landing her spread reveal
Insight with night's flight

Now a story about my first haiku.

Last eve I was reading the Bible with a friend on my porch when a butterfly landed upon the words of
Revelations, Chapter 2.Within moments of its departure, it returned again, landing in the very same spot.Of course, both us were amazed.

This particular Bible had been given to me over 22 years ago, but it has been lost for 20 years.A month ago, I prayed for a new Bible. The very next day, my former mother-in-law called to say she had found a Bible with an inscription to me.Indeed it was the missing Bible!

Now I wonder if the butterfly carried the spirit of that very spiritual and righteous woman.

I am curious to know what you think.

Thanks,
Patricia

Patricia, I have to say that I do think you are right, and that things happen in this life that are meant to uplift our faith and hope.  I loved the poetry, but the story behind it was wonderful, especially since your long lost treasure was returned to you!

Wow, Patricia, this is very beautiful, inspiring and touching!
I always identify butterflies with souls who have passed on ... I think this contact has been orchestrated by someone "above" ...
The soft landing, twice on the same spot, holds a message of love ... NO DOUBT!
I love this very much and will keep it.
Nice that your first one is soooo significative!
Love and hugs. Margherita

In appreciation of the Haiku,
which could stand alone, I am
amazed, and pleased, at the fact
that you would share such a personal
story about an amazing friend, and her
amazing gift.  Indeed, God works in
mysterious ways - and who is to say
that He wouldn't cover His messenger
in beautiful wings of color?

Patricia as I read your Haiku,
I was about to reply with what a beautiful one it is for your first try..
Then I read your experience wiyth the bible..
truly the experience was a gift from God
and remarkable in itself.
Wonderful wonderful dear poetess.
