Some would say platonic
I choose not to define
some could add sardonic
of the unpolite kind

It all depends on how you express yourself
whether you're keen to exploit
it all extends on how you stack that shelf
as if a magnate from Detroit...

For if you're about to use her
she will let you know, sir
yet she has been picked and rightfully coupled
no room for petty tricks, you'd find her troubled..

Of the thoughtful kind towards domestic cats
wipe your shoes on her ample welcome mat
she embodies what is rare of a permanent friend
I will cherish this bond through the very end..

Labels are so often misleading--and limiting! Enjoy your friend and your times together for however long they may last.

Warm hugs,

ecrivan - a female friend I find does wonders when wanting to just talk about anything, one to cherish...

Charles,

This friend is someone to cherish

Peppermint35

"Labels are so often misleading--and limiting"..so I've kept this friend I have had for many many years
Not someone to drop a friendship when someone marries.

Linda,

Thanks for the line on labels...so many people are limited that way.

Sy,

It's a change from the regular "my heart aches for you poem"...and long overdue here.
