Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2003-07-23 10:37 AM

her small white hands find his
fingers interlaced
hearts broken soundlessly
a thousand whispers of destiny to keep them apart

she sees nothing but him

through cerulean comes a breath of autumn brown
eyes
searching for secrets in the other's soul

it is love that laces them together as one
the silvery thread
slowly graying
doubt and hesitation to settle in

he longs to rhapsodize
of everything
emotions fraying in a disquieting façade

stillness

nothing disturbs him as he holds her close
safely
for e'er one more hour between his dreams

he sees nothing but her

existence
is shattered

fingers weave a rhapsody 'twixt her golden hair

she needs

the unspoken word is unfathomable
gifted and cursed by this affection they feel
oh, wait..
just a little longer

and as the moon rises above twilight's song
they see nothing but each other
in the pending dark

For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet"

I'd say that you yourself, wove a rhapsody! A beautiful write! Thoroughly enjoyed the reading experience!
