A TRIBUTE TO MY DAD
by Ethel M. Kent
June, 1985

~*~
Sometimes we seem to forget to say
"thank you" to our Dad
Especially when we have grown up
and our own problems we have had

But I'd like to say as best I can
in these few verses I write
That I thank God for all the times
for our family, Dad used courage and might

And I thank You, God, for all the many times he worked
when I'm sure he wasn't able
So we could have a good place to sleep
good clothes and plenty of food on the table

And God, I used to think he was being too strict
when I had to be home in such a hurry
But now I know if he hadn't had such love
he would never have bothered to worry

So I thank you, God, for my Dad
and help me always to show it
So that even though I forget to say "I love you"
he will always know it

very nice memory's ethel,, and really i belive one can say i love you "dad" with out saying a word,,, actions are louder then words any day,, or at least in this fathers eyes they are,,,,
